Yates: Emma is quite competitive and Dan is quite competitive, so they had this absolutely perfect dance, and I said, well look guys that’s really amazing but I don’t believe that’s your characters doing that. This has got to be a really messy, awkward, slightly geeky dance. And that’s what we kind of ended up with. Although the most important part of it was the moment at the end…
Hayley Tamaddon: In that one moment you think, this is it they’re going to kiss.
Yates: And you go “uh oh.. here we go” …but they don’t.
Emma: I think something easily could’ve happened between the two of them, but she stays true to her heart and how she feels about Ron and she decides not to. But there’s definitely the possibility and there’s definitely that tension in that moment.

There was this news programme in England called Newsround and they wanted kids my age to sort of come forward and like send in application forms and stuff. So, I basically made a video tape of myself kind of doing a rap…

#omg this scene #I watched PoA yesterday #and for the first time really appreciated it #ugh they are kids and in just a couple years they will have to fight for the lives of everyone they love and everything they hold dear and they do so with so much honor and bravery and courage #These five boys slept in the same room for six full years I mean so much happened with them between the lines and important parts of the book i can just imagine neville going on about how hermione was so nice to help him with his homework and ron getting this big grin on his face and neville ~getting it and watching Ron as he blushes and Seamus going on about how Crabbe and Goyle were being stupid again and how he and dean were planning a prank on them and dean going on about ginny and harry finding himself so envious of dean and ron going on about the chudley cannons while seamus laughs at him and harry starts speaking parseltongue in his sleep again and it wakes up neville and ron and neville just mouths ‘again?’ and ron rolls his eyes and rolls back over

David Yates’s most vivid memory of Emma is watching her suddenly let go of her steely professionalism and for once just be young and free. They were filming a death scene from Hallows Part 2 on a freezing-cold beach in Wales. The actors were miserable, especially Emma, who hates the cold and dislikes getting wet even more. But out of nowhere, he recalls, “she ran into the icy water and stood there, holding herself against the waves with her arms outstretched, just laughing.” In that brief moment he got a sense of what it must be like to have a multibillion-dollar industry dependent on your every move and be only nineteen years old.
